During the Indian Prime Minister’s trip to the US in June 2023, the Gujarat Government signed an MOU with Micron Technology, America's largest semiconductor memory IDM to establish a semiconductor chip manufacturing plant in Sanand, Gujarat.

Cengrs is excited to be a part of this watershed moment. At the land allotted to Micron Semiconductor Technology India Pvt. Ltd., Cengrs performed a topographic survey and detailed geotechnical investigation for the new Assembly & Test facilities in Gujarat Industrial Development Inc., Sanand, Gujarat State, India. The proposed new facility has 3 phases with various facilities planned.

The scope of work included over 40 boreholes, piezo-cone penetration tests (CPTU), plate load tests, and electrical resistivity tests. The challenge of developing an appropriate foundation system in the expansive soils of Sanand was made easy by the extensive field and laboratory tests performed and the advanced engineering analysis performed.
