Chanana Baraj Station (SV-4021), Mehsana-Bathinda Pipeline Project (MBPL) Phase-2
Overview:
Cengrs Geotechnica Pvt. Ltd. conducted a detailed geotechnical investigation for the proposed Chanana Baraj Station (SV-4021) along the MBPL Phase-2 pipeline in Rajasthan. The study provided essential data for foundation design and construction of pipeline infrastructure.
Client and Project Details:
●Client: M/s Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd.
●Project Site: Chanana Baraj (SV-4021), Rajasthan
●Purpose: Construction of a pipeline station.
●Completion Date: October 3, 2019
Key Findings:
●Stratigraphy: Silty sand layers up to the explored depth of 15 meters, with SPT values ranging from 17 to 98.
●Groundwater: Not encountered up to 15 meters depth, indicating safe conditions for foundation stability.
●Foundation Recommendations:
Open foundations with depths of 1.0 to 3.0 meters.
Net allowable bearing pressures ranging from 7.5 to 12.0 T/m².
●Liquefaction Potential: Low, due to medium to dense soil strata and deep groundwater table.
Technical Highlights:
Drilled two boreholes and excavated one trial pit for stratigraphy analysis.
Conducted seven Electrical Resistivity Tests (ERT) to optimize grounding system design.
Laboratory testing included Proctor compaction, shear strength, and chemical analysis for durability.
Client Impact:
The investigation enabled M/s Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd. to design cost-effective and stable foundations, minimizing risks and enhancing the efficiency of pipeline infrastructure development.
Conclusion:
Cengrs Geotechnica’s tailored geotechnical solutions ensured the safe and efficient design of a vital station in the MBPL project, highlighting our commitment to engineering excellence.
